Bill entitled an Act to provide for the exercise by either House or both Houses of the Oireachtas (or by a Committee of either House or both Houses) of a power to conduct an inquiry into specified matters, to provide for matters relating to compellability, privilege and procedure in the Houses (and in Committees of either House or both Houses), and to provide for related matters.

Amendment no.8 moved by Deputy Thomas Pringle:
In page 23, between lines 44 and 45, to insert the following:
“Each house shall make rules and standing orders referred to in subsection (1) (a) that shall provide that a vote in favour of the conducting of an inquiry shall be deemed to pass if no less than two thirds of the designated opposition deputies vote in favour of the conducting of the inquiry by a committee."
