Question from Sharon Nolan
13/02/2013 - 20:45

When will there be work completed to upgrade the L7980 and L3993? Both roads are in dire condition from potholes and muck. Both these problems contribute to dangerous driving conditions.

You sent me an e-mail on the 2 September 2013 in connection with Sharon Nolan who contacted dailwatch.ie and directed a question; When will there be work completed to upgrade the L7980 and L3993 as both roads were in dire condition?

I attach the reply I received from Orla Barrett who is the Senior Engineer in the Roads Department in Laois County Council who has said; both roads were completed about 6-8 weeks ago

Both these roads were completed about 6-8 weeks ago.

The L3993 was completed at least 8 weeks ago the works was extended to include almost 2 km of road and the L7980 was completed in August and extends to 1.2 km of road to join in with the section completed in previous years.
